This week, Nikkan Sports is revealing the winners of its 11th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix, one award each day. The awards cover television dramas that aired between April 2007 and March 2008, with the nominees gathered from the quarterly awards. All winners were chosen by public vote in late March.
The first award, announced Monday, is the Best Actor prize. It was given to Jin Akanishi for his role in the popular "Yukan Club" series that NTV broadcast this past fall. The show was his first drama role after he returned from his temporary absence from the group KAT-TUN.

＜第１１回日刊スポーツ・ドラマグランプリ受賞者発表＞
２００７年度（０７年４月～０８年３月）に放送されたドラマから優秀作品、
優秀俳優を選ぶ「第１１回日刊スポーツ・ドラマグランプリ」
の各賞受賞者をきょうから発表します。トップバッターの主演男優賞は
日本テレビ系「有閑倶楽部」のＫＡＴ－ＴＵＮ赤西仁（２３）が受賞した。
半年間、米国留学で活動休止し、復帰後初めてのドラマ出演。
主演の自覚よりも役柄同様、チームワークに徹した。
０６年１０月から０７年４月までロスへ留学。
２年４カ月ぶりの連続ドラマで、初めて単独主演した。
「主演を深く考えなかった。自覚もしてなかった」。
だからぶっちぎりの１位も「ホントかよ、という感じ。
みんなが楽しんでくれればいいなと思ってやってたから」と、
実感がわかない様子だ。
劇中で有閑倶楽部のメンバーに「オレたち、仲間じゃん」
とつぶやくシーンがある。セリフだけではなかった。
共演者同士で食事に行ったり、撮影中も率先して話しかけた。
「６人のコミュニケーションが大事。
普段しゃべるところから画面に出てしまう。
ちゃんと（いい雰囲気が）出たと思います。
そうでなければ、微妙な間は出なかったと思う」。
仲間の大切さがテーマだった。
「家族や友達に支えられていると思います」と自分を重ね合わせた。
１人暮らしのロスでは、応援してくれる存在のありがたさを再認識した。
「半年間なんで。でもやっぱり寂しいとは思いましたけど。
メールや電話で仲間を実感しましたね」と振り返る。
逆に所属するＫＡＴ―ＴＵＮには「仲間」
と簡単にくくれないほどの深い思いがある。
「それぞれ個人が好きなことをやっていて、
ジャニーさん（ジャニーズ事務所社長のジャニー喜多川氏）がまとめる
。みんなで一緒にというのは、逆にＫＡＴ―ＴＵＮじゃない気がする」。
出演したいのは「スケール的には映画クラスの作品」。
今、米ドラマ「ヒーローズ」にハマっている。映画館にも出掛ける。
最近見たのは「アメリカン・ギャングスター」。
好んで行くのもスケールが大きい作品らしい。ハリウッド進出について問うと
「行きたいです、いつか。出られれば宝になる。
規模が違うじゃないですか。この中からどう見えるのかなと思って」。
ロス留学で変わったことは「具体的にはないです。
僕的にはまったくブレはないですね」ときっぱり。
「割と自分の感性を信じていますね。悩むことはありますよ。
グリーンティーとウーロン茶、どっちにしようとか（笑い）。
メニューとか小さいことで悩みます」。

◆赤西仁（あかにし・じん）
１９８４年（昭５９）７月４日、東京都生まれ。
９８年にジャニーズ事務所入り。０１年に亀梨和也、田口淳之介、田中聖、
上田竜也、中丸雄一とＫＡＴ－ＴＵＮを結成。
０６年３月に「ＲＥＡＬ ＦＡＣＥ」でＣＤデビュー。
０５年日本テレビ系ドラマ「ごくせん」「ａｎｅｇｏ」などに出演。
１７８センチ。血液型Ｏ。
